Barclaycard SMS Banking

Overview

Barclaycard SMS Banking is an interactive service designed to make managing your credit card even easier. This secure service is available to all Barclaycard customers for a flat fee of AED 100 per year.

Once registered, you will receive instant SMS alerts from us as well as being able to request information about your account, simply by sending us an SMS. With this service, you can:

  • Receive alerts following transactions you make

  • Receive payment reminders

  • Check the details of your last statement

  • Check mini statement details

Barclays takes a number of security precautions to protect your account. We always use a secure service to send SMS texts and will never send your account details or any other personal information via the SMS channel. However, as an additional security measure, we do recommend that you use a PIN code on your phone to keep all information stored on the device completely secure.

We will send SMS alerts to the mobile phone number that we hold for you on our records. If you have changed your number recently, or if you have not updated your contact details with us for some time, we recommend that you get in touch to update your contact details.

How to register:

Registering for this service is easy. There are two ways to register:

  1. SMS SUB followed by a space and the last 4 digits of your Barclaycard number to 3652. E.g. if your Barclaycard number ends with 6443, your SMS should read SUB 6443.

  2. Call us on 04 4286000 and one of our Personal Banking executives will be pleased to register you for the service.

Once subscribed, you will instantly start receiving alerts for the transactions and payments made on your Barclaycard as well as payment reminders and promotional messages. You can also receive instant updates about your account by sending a short 4 digit code to us.

Once registered, a charge of AED100 will be applied to your next Barclaycard statement. This will cover the cost of the service for one year. Standard SMS charges will apply from your mobile phone provider for any SMS’ that you send.

What you need

  • A mobile phone registered with a UAE network provider, e.g. Etisalat or Du. We can’t send SMS alerts to landline phones or to personal computers.

  • An active Barclaycard account 

  • We will send SMS alerts to the mobile phone number that we hold for you on our records. If you have changed your number recently, or if you have not updated your contact details with us for some time, we recommend that you get in touch to update your contact details.

SMS short codes

By sending us an SMS with one of the following four digit codes, you can perform a number of transactions from your mobile phone. The services that are available to you are:
